We are proud to present this rare gem: a brand new recording featuring the legendary American bass player Steve Swallow!

This project is truly global – an American meets three Danes and together they play compositions from Denmark, Sweden, America and Brazil. The result is an international jazz album that features deep grooves, haunting melodies and exciting musicianship.

Steve Swallow (born 1940) is a complete musician, known for his groundbreaking projects through the last 50 years with such jazz icons as: Benny Goodman, Stan Getz, Art Farmer, Jimmy Giuffre, John Scofield, Carla Bley and many others.

Besides being a unique and immensely influential voice as an electric bass player, Swallow is also a composer of the highest caliber. He has written what has since become important jazz standards – such songs as Falling Grace and Eiderdown. On this release Swallows compositional side is showcased with two compositions: “Ladies in Mercedes and “Ever After”.

The collaboration between saxman Hans Ulrik and Steve Swallow goes back to the late 90’s, when they toured Europe and recorded 3 albums. Hans Ulrik is one of the most distinguished and recognizable voices on the European jazz scene, and he has toured and recorded extensively both as a leader and sideman. He received a grammy for his album “Jazz and Mambo” (Stunt Records).

Drummer Anders Mogensens collaboration with Swallow dates back to the mid 90’s. Steve Swallow expresses his admiration for Mogensens drumming: “You are, unfortunately, one of the few drummers I really like to play with” J. Anders Mogensen has a busy schedule, touring around the globe with bands such as: Jerry Bergonzi Quartet and Walt Weiskopf European Quartet.

Fourth member of The Meeting is guitar master Niclas Knudsen. He has toured and recorded with a long list of known musicians such as Billy Preston, Adam Nussbaum, Ethan Iverson and others, and he is the main force behind the amazing band Ibrahim Electric.
